One of the hard things about doing this Advent activity calendar with the boys is that it also happens to be the busiest time of year, workwise, for me, which doesn’t always leave enough evening time to do fun crafts, outings, or other activities. This week, for instance, I’ve had two evenings of double-header meetings plus one morning with a breakfast-time meeting. So I try to have a few Advent activity ideas that will be fun for the boys but will actually take liimited time to pull off.

Wearing something special fits the bill! Over the last couple of years, I’ve done “wear Christmas socks” and “wear Christmas pajamas,” for instance. Last week, I found these cute Angry Birds Christmas t-shirts at Old Navy, and I knew the boys would love them. So I put them under the tree for them to find for Day 5 (actual piece of paper inside the Day 5 mitten said, “Wear Christmas shirts (look under the tree).” They rarely wear matching clothes anymore, so it was kind of fun for me to see them all matchy before they left for school.
