In May, I got totally obsessed with yet another Through the Loops design, Zelkova , a bottom-up, circular-yoke, seamless, aran-weight cardigan. I was thrilled to knit with Plucky Aran from The Plucky Knitter in “Chinos.” I seriously LOVE TPK and was thrilled with this mash-up of a favorite designer with a favorite yarnie. TTL+TPK=FTW!
Anyway! I was done with the knitting in a FLASH! That’s what happens when I get obsessed. But then I got hung up on button choices, and then when I’d finally decided which buttons to go with, it was so hot and muggy (like three-digits hot), that there hardly seemed any point in sewing buttons on a cardigan I wouldn’t wear till fall. That didn’t stop me from packing it up and carting it on many travels just in case I decided to sew buttons on. This cardi traveled in its own suitcase (along with yarn, fabric, and wips) to Georgia, then to Florida, then to Georgia again, then back to Michigan, then back to Georgia again this fall, where I FINALLY sewed the buttons on. I got modeled shots in Georgia, too, which I will show you very soon. In the meantime, suffice it to say, I adore this sweater and am so happy I listened to my tweeps, who urged me to go with the green buttons! I couldn’t be happier with it.
