I had the privilege of going to Rhinebeck last month and staying with some super knitter friends. The group has a tradition of doing a Rhineswap and this year we swapped handknit mitts. I got to knit for the lovely Sara.
I wanted to make something extra-special for her, and handspun mitts seemed the way to go. So I got my hands on some Pigeonroof Fiber Studios BFL in “Legerdemain” (link is to the stash I bought it from – I didn’t get a good pre-spinning shot myself) and I spun it into this:
roughly 300 yards of 2-ply light worsted
I was really happy with how this spun up!
I’d been wanting to try verabee’s Albina Armwarmers pattern for awhile, and it did not disappoint. If you are looking for a great custom fit, you can’t go wrong with these.
And they were a fast knit too!
I especially love the little buttons:
I think they look great on her! In fact, all the mitts looked great:
I love mine (the purple ones! love!).
Yay!! Glad you’re enjoying the mitts. :o)

Love the mitts! Where did you get the buttons? So cute! Also, you couldn’t have a better arm model than Sara, so darn photogenic!
