Okay, it was more like 3 years and 15 minutes , but still. I picked this up after putting it aside for three years, and when I did, I couldn’t believe it – I was done almost before I’d started.
When Little Buddha was 3 1/2 years old, I bought this sweet handspun from Pancake and Lulu to make him a Zeebee. I ran out of yarn 7 rows from the end. I ripped, recalculated, and started again. It turned out too short. I ripped and restarted. It turned out too long plus was going to run out of yarn again. So Pancake and Lulu dyed another skein for me and I started again.
I was almost done with my 4th attempt when I realized it was going to be too big again!
I gave up. I put it away and decided that some day I would frog it and try again.
I picked it up again this February, almost exactly three years after I’d set it aside. Here’s what it looked like:
Roughly 35 or 40 stitches from the end. Before I frogged, I tried it on him and was astonished to discover that I loved it. Yeah, it was a little longish:
…but nothing too ridiculous. So I stitched up the last few stitches and called it done.
Fastest. Knit. Ever.
And I love the way it looks on him.

Very cute! I thought I was the only one that had unfinished projects that old! I feel better now. 🙂
