Look! I have another beautiful son, too! I’m a pretty darn lucky gal, eh?
Thank you all, so very much, for your kind comments, your good wishes, and your willingness to let others know of the potential danger of sandholes. (There’s still time to enter the giveaway – I’ll be drawing a name on Saturday evening.)
Now that I’m here, I might as well show you what I’ve knit lately. And I use the word “lately” loosely. It turns out I’ve gotten quite behind in blogging all my bloggables. I prefer to post things chronologically, but at this point I just need to get them posted.
So. Here’s a hat! Exciting, right? Well, actually, it kind of is. I’m always excited to take something from fiber to yarn to finished knit. This started as this beautiful deep blue polwarth from Southern Cross Fibre, in “Deep Blue Sea.”
I spun it up as a bulky 2-ply and ended up with 200 yards of this:
I used less than half of that for this hat, which is just a simple beanie with a few purl rounds thrown in here and there for funsies.
Tiny Dancer was a sport to model this hat in 90-something-degree weather today. Most of the summer, he looks more like this:
Cute, huh? (Truth is, I’m a Braves fan. But the boys are playing baseball this summer and their team is the Red Sox, hence the hat. Still, I’m pretty sure I am now raising Red Sox fans, which I can live with unless the Braves and the Red Sox are ever up against each other in the World Series. Which, come to think of it, would be pretty sweet!)
Thanks again, y’all, for your warm and wonderful comments.
I’m most excited by that missing tooth! lol. 🙂
Your sons are so cute! I love the color of the yarn too! 🙂
That’s the smart thinking we could all benefit from.
Such a cute boy! And such a cute hat! I’ve got a couple of kids with missing teeth too. 😀
Glad I’ve finally found something I agree with!
Love this hat! I keep thinking I need to spin more solid-ish fiber because it turns out so lovely.
