One of our students is getting married next month and a friend of hers had a Christmas ornament shower for her last week (her birthday is on Christmas and she loves all things Christmas). Paul and I couldn’t go to the shower, but I still wanted to give her some ornaments. I went with EZ’s August Fiddle-Faddle and some leftover Malabrigo Worsted, in Pollen. Such a sweet little knit!
pattern: August Fiddle-Faddle, Elizabeth Zimmeran, Knitter’s Almanac
yarn: a minimal amount of Malabrigo Worsted, Pollen
needles: size 3
dates: April 9-10 – super-quick!
I will definitely be making more of these. In addition to being super-cute ornaments, they will be such sweet gift decorations. I’ve also seen a few people who have made them as tree-toppers (with thicker yarn and more garter rows).
Those are so sweet! And oh man, I am in love with the idea of an ornament shower.
So cute!
I’m going through a huge yellow phase. These are so cute it makes me want to rush out to a yarn shop for some Malabrigo.
Tree topper! What a great idea. We’ve been looking for something pretty and not made in China… this may be the answer! π
Those are fantastic–how on earth did I miss them in there? Thanks for sharing! π
What cute ornaments! I had not heard of an ornament shower and my birthday is in December, too!
Now I’ll be knitting stars in addition to leaves!
Peace to you.
These are gorgeous! What perfect yarn for this project π
