When I won this yarn from Heather, I knew right away I was going to make the exact same thing with it that she did. It was just such a perfect match of yarn and pattern, and I really wanted a new cowl for spring.
pattern: Darkside Cowl by Sarah Fama
yarn: Artyarns Supermerino, 1 skein
needles: size 7
cast on: February 26
bound off: March 8
mods: none needed
verdict: I love it! It is so smooshy and soft and springy. The pattern is quick and fun, and I think it works really well for an variegated yarn. I love that it stretches enough to go over my huge noggin but then hugs in close enough to keep my neck warm. And the color! Well, the color makes me very happy. It says: “Spring is coming!” and “Kiss me, I’m Irish!” and “Yay! Green!”
Thanks, Heather!
I’m keeping this pattern in mind for Walter. His brioche stitch cowl lost its shape almost instantly and is now huuuuge. So, something that will go over his head and then snap back is a must for the next version.
Beautiful. I have this one in my queue. Hooray for spring! I’m currently working on the Tamarind Cowl in Malabrigo. It’s just happens to be green as well. 😉 Wishing you warmer days very soon.
Fantastic!! Now I am green with envy (ha ha) that I gave the one that I made away:)
