Weekend Wrap-up :: some knitting, some baseball, and even some spinning

On Saturday, I got to stay home all day. ALL DAY. I didn’t have to go anywhere at all, and neither did my sons. I did have some work-related work to do, which is the norm lately, but it was all stuff that could at least be done at home. The weekend as a whole was pretty darn yummy, thanks in part to the following activities.

I picked up an old project:
Partial mitered cross square, out from hibernation. #knitting #handspun #helloyarn #wip #blanket #mitered

That’s a Mitered Cross square for my handspun Mitered Cross Blanket. According to Ravelry, I started this project two-and-a-half years ago. I consider this a long-term pleasure project – a little palate-cleanser between other projects. The squares are so delightful, and they work up so quickly. Before long, I had this:
Progress #knitting #handspun #helloyarn #blanket #wip #mitered

I worked on it while watching the Tigers lose:

Prince Fielder up to bat

And I worked on it while watching the Tigers win:

Torii Hunter!

One of my cats kept me company:

And before long, I had the whole square:
Square 6 #knitting #handspun #helloyarn #mitered #miteredcross #blanket #nofilter
Mmmm. I am in love with this squishy square. It almost makes me want to put aside all my other projects and finish this blanket in time for winter. But instead, it can join the other Mitered Cross in the closet for awhile.

Also, there was some of this:
Feet, meet wheel. Let's see if we still know how to do this. #spinning #spinningwheel #schacht #matchless #yarn #nofilter

It felt great to get my feet back on the wheel!

I just did a couple of ounces, to finish up a project I spun for last spring. Sweet, sweet Hello Yarn:

Hello Yarn Panda (SWM, Bamboo, Nylon) in "Villain"

Oh, that shot of blue. It slays me.

It was a good weekend, y’all! I hope yours was, too.
